Remove the anti-static bridge using a 15-25W soldering iron and desoldering braid.

Remove the 4 screws using a Philips screwdriver and remove the bottom cover.

Using your thumb, press the black plastic tab toward the outward edge of the circuit board. The circuit board can now be freed by lifting slightly upwards and moved to the left.

Gently raise the circuit board a little so the thin ribbon cable can be removed.

Move the circuit board a little forward to remove the screw. The rail can now be lifted and moved towards the rear of the drive to free the laser.

The circuit board can now be flipped toward the front of the drive with the rail and laser. Remove the rail and gently remove the ribbon cable from the laser. Swap over the plastic guide arm and reverse the above procedure and your new laser is installed.
