For the PVR-802W and KHM-430, remove the anti-static bridge using a 15-25W soldering iron and desoldering braid.

For the SPU-3170, remove the anti-static bridge using a 15-25W soldering iron and desoldering braid. Gently peel off the blue plastic lens cover.

First, remove the laser guide arm. Second, loosen the rear screw, about 2 1/2 turns will do nicely. Third, remove the front screw and the bronze colored brace.

The rail can now be moved to the right and moved forward to free the laser.

Very gently lift the brown snap lock so the laser ribbon cable can be removed. Reverse the above procedure and your new laser is installed. NOTE: be sure the ribbon cable is inserted fully into your new laser otherwise it will not work.
